further, if you were offended about my generalizations of atheists, consider your own generalizations about believers. we're all big hypocrites if you ask me.
heehee, he called me "babe."

Yeah, I'm a hypocritical non-Christian. I'll see you at the 2005 Hypocrit Convention where all are welcome ... sort of.

I know there are a FEW atheists who have fun and are genuinely fine human beings
I'm an atheist and filled with a lot of love. Sure, I get impatient and beat my fist on my desk, but is god supposed to help me with that?

Love comes from a person's soul regardless of how they convice their brain to believe. It's completely wrong to assume that, without a formalized claim to some religeous conviction that a person cannot be inherently good.

Looking around the world today, a person could probably make a good argument that religions are the CAUSE of a lot of cynicism and hate. I don't see a lot of love in the decisions carried out by this country's "leader", a supposed "born again".

What's to say that we've found it yet? Or that there had been life but it passed on or that life is in the process as we speak.

I doubt "G"od is on a timeline in line with ours.

Darwin and the slow evolution process has been critiqued in the scientific community. NOT debunked but not "perfect" either.

You don't need to look at other planets to see evolution. Look at staph infections that antibiotics can't touch. Microbiology can provide many examples of evolution occurring.

I mean, think about all the chaos that happened when Galileo dared say the world wasn't flat.

Then again, call me crazy but I don't BELIEVE that God and science are necessarily at odds with eachother or that the existance of one debunks the existance of the other.

*edited b/c I can't type. thanks a lot christian.*

I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

If Darwin is on the money, it should be coming to find us! Look, I'm a little disappointed that we haven't found anything on Mars yet. A little algae, a lichen, or something. But a true evolutionist should find Darwin's own alien, not merely a survivor, but a species killer! Timeline shmimeline, there ought to be something out there that will curl Sigourney Weaver's toes, acid blooded, methane breathing, magma eating, silicon skinned body snatchers that have clawed their way to the top of their stellar Galapagos leaving a trail of extinct missing links behind them. Something to give the human race a run for it's money. Look at us, we're soft, weak, naked, clawless, fangless, and blogs have convinced me that our reasoning power is pretty overrated and here we are at the top of the evolutionary ladder. Darwin was off his nut.

We are farming humans. We will invade after your population has reached a predetermined point. Why do you think we made sex feel so good? Then we will use you as fuel cells for our spaceships! We thank the US govt. for hiding some of our deserters who tried to warn you.

Oh dang it! Wait, internal disequilibrium, I may have to hold off my conversion.

Wait a minute. Who are the 'cynical and hate filled' people here? The proponents of ID consistently lie and misrepresent themselves. Real scientists have to constantly stand up and present honest, good-faith arguments for the reality of evolution, while the ID camp endlessly present 'misprepresentations' and use 'stealth'. In fact, the whole 'ID' thing is at it's core, a lie - simply a big cover for Creationism. Several of the 'scientists' who are paid by the 'ID movement' have explicity admited that they were 'stealth' students and factuly at real universities so that they could get credentials with which to attack real science. The ID movement constantly misrepresents genuine scientific differences and questions as 'faults' and 'contradictions' that supposedly undermine the theory of evolution - when they know perfectly well that these do not. They know perfectly well that there is no controversey whatsoever, but they endlessly claim that there is. Who is cynical - the stealthy liars or the honest scientists?

And the guru of the ID movement, Rousas John Rushdoony, called for the overthrow of the US Constitution to be replaced by Biblical Law. Among the many Taliban-like positions he took was that homosexuals should be stoned to death! Who is hate filled here - the religious extremists, or the scientists who are trying to find cures for diseases?

I still love how people with little to no knowledge of evolutionary science love for their MRI and cancer druges to work but hate/don't believe when other intelligent researchers do their jobs well.
