Jonathan, well said. I couldn't agree more. In line to pay for gas there was a morbidly obese mother buying her morbidly obese 8 year old daughter a sausage biscuit.
Fatty needed some oatmeal for breakfast instead, IMHO. My daughter is almost 2 & has never had even a sip of any sort of soda. I don't drink it...she doesn't need it either.

My little bro...well, not so little anymore... grew up not having any soda at all until he turned 15 and was forced to (no other drinks were available at the time). His reason all these years? His kindergarten teacher said, "it's bad for the body". I wonder what else she REALLY said. There's no way a kid would listen to such a simple notion.

Just like everything else, most parents are too pathetic to take care of themselves, let alone raise well educated, properly nourished children.

My dear friends. A little compassion here wouldn't hurt. Dealing with desire is the # 1 cause of suffering. In this paradigm everyone is doing exactly as well as they can.
Usually when we submit to desires we suffer more.
Each "morbidly obese" person is suffering greatly. At least on some level eating disorders can be a way to try to fill "the black hole in the soul"
If you have ever known a drunk or an addict you know how hard it is for them to "just stop" .
There is a reason a person suffers in their desires temporarily fulfiled:
their continued suffering fuels their transformation.
Rant over.Thanks for listening.

That's a myth, the amount of sugar you ingest does not cause juvenile diabetes, no one really knows what causes it though most theories point to an overreactive immune system response. Adult onset diabetes is what you are referring to.
That said, can you smell the condescension in this thread? Fucking climbers are the worst assholes in the world for telling everyone how they should live their life.
Everyone pays for their mistakes eventually, deal with your own situation and stay the fuck out of my life, the smokers' lives, the alcoholics' lives, the FAS parents' lives, and the freaking fat asses' lives. The world is a tough place for everyone and you fucktards do not have the monopoly on how it should be lived.
pretentious. condescending. assholes.

Adults who make their own choices on what they put in their mouths are one thing...sending your child down that path is another.
It IS a form of child abuse.

I hope you never have kids for this reason:

Stop, you're making me blush.
But since you lumped ALL climbers in there, you're included too right?

Whether you view it that way or not, I learned the law doesn't. You could feed your kids candy bars and nothing else and the welfare will tell you that they can do nothing about it.
It is mean to refer to people as "fatty," but I think that when these people that Charlie listed end up on government assistance that is paid by my taxes, you can bet I'll feel bitter about it.
I don't know if it's laziness or lack of education, but I do know that junk food costs way less than healthier alternatives and families with a herd of kids can't quite afford that. It's a tough situation.

Don't mean to pick on you Mdws...just commenting on some of the things you brought up. Very good points.

Yeah...that's just how I personally feel about feeding children junk non stop. It's surprising that the government hasn't stepped in since they seem to need to tell us how to do everything else. Children must be in carseats but slowly kill your child & we'll let that slide.

I don't agree with that. That sausage biscuit cost a lot more than the 39 cent apples they had at the counter. Fruits & veggies are cheap.
