What knot to use?

Hey how come this is hijacked... I thought it was fairly legitimate - or is any thread that mentions HO just automatically hijacked?

i don't know how much one "certified" knot matters over another.
i do know though that a safety knot at the end is always a good idea.
now, when i tie up hofo i use a figure 8 girth hithed to a yosemite finished with a square knot and an ugly fisherman.
which if you think about it is hard to do with del constantly thumping hofo's leg so hard he is shaking more than a mixed drink in the movie cocktails.
I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I use what has been refered to as a "Triple Double". Its a double bowline with a double loop around the harness and then a double fishermans non-yosimite finish.
