And I bet a lot of Devil's lake 5.10 climbers would have way more trouble on RRG 5.12's. :wink:

I agree with you Wes. I just think you can't always compare route grades from different crags and different eras.

Yup I agree with both of you guys...this is the fun of climbing at different crags! Since I started out only at Devils Lake, I was shocked to be able to climb 5.10 when I first went someplace else...what a nice feeling :D

I wonder if the .9s at Muir suck less than most of the .9s at the Red. Seriously, if you're looking to climb any 5.9s in the area, you're probably better off doing a 10a instead. Lots of them are not as old and the ratings are a little more reliable. I've heard many people say that lots of the old 5.9 routes are harder than the 10a ones.
