local, you're looking for feedback on just the stuff about miguel's, right? or are you looking for feedback on events and stuff? if not, maybe a thread for feedback on the rrgcc events would be good to separate the two thoughts and give the coallition some feelings about the events.

If Miguel's made it until Monday, then they did a fantastic job of offering food.

I got the experience of sitting for 20 minutes, then having my order taken, then sitting for 5 more minutes, then being told that there's no more food at RRO on Sunday. :(

MMB was also running low on food, but they did have some super yummy blackberry cobbler (as well as the best pulled pork sammiches)!

Kudos for noone else going to Tower Rock on Saturday, I enjoyed not seeing a single other person all day long!

in defense of jr, since he rarely gets on here...

everyone who knows him, knows his style of humor. so instead of criticizing him, why don't you bitch at the people who asked him to do it...and even then, it was their show, so they can do what they want.

Not to change thread topic or make excuses, Miguel’s has had 20 years to learn their food and supply needs, I have had 2 months. We did not anticipate such a great turn out and we thank everyone for stopping in, it means so much to us. We did run out of bagels, pancakes and french toast around 11:30 or so on Sunday, almost made it to the end of breakfast. If you did have to wait that long for your order to be taken I apologize and want to let you know that is not the normal service level at RRO. I make it a point to talk with everyone that comes in and make sure they get the best service we can offer. Next time your in stop by and we will make it right. We did resupply Sunday afternoon and was back on track for breakfast Monday morning and again thank everyone for the great turn out.

On a side note. Our food does take a little longer, we fix every piece as its ordered. IMO the wait is worth it, sit back talk with your neighbor and enjoy the meal when it arrives.

Lets not change the topic, I just wanted to let everyone know what happened.

RRO- don't apologize. Anyone who is anyone should have expected pizzas to be slow and things to run out. Those who bitched about it- need to get over it. Also, about JR, he was fucking hilarious! I was standing right next to Miguel when JR started standup and even Miguel was laughing his ass off. No one said this event was rated G nor is Miguel the Garden of Eden.

I wasn't there for JR's spot but I will wager that I've heard it all. Most people there know JR. If he's doing standup, then expect to get JR. If you don't like JRs ribald humor, then don't watch. I'm really bummed that I missed it. I think the guy's hysterical. He pushes all bounds of social conscience but that's what makes him hysterical.

RRO kicks ass. I think they did an amazing job this weekend. What really impressed me were the number of people who came from outside the climbing community. They were all thrilled to have a place to eat. The number of large parties were pretty amazing. Congrats to Matt and Amy! Y'all kick serious ass! Woohoo!

i can almost think of no business that is more of a gamble than food service. you never know how much stock to get for sure - too much ya get spoilages and wastes of capitol, too little you run out and customers demand isn't met. rro and miguel did a great job and of the problems for them to have, the latter is the best. that was probably the busiest weekend i've ever seen there. definately the nicest memorial day weekend weather-wise. who knows? they stock up next year and storms mess it up - big gamble.
