i just want to go to chile. my friends spent some time in the (i'm going to mess this up) acongugua desert and it sounds pretty incredible. plus the andes are on my list of places i have to go/see. not to mention top quality people and excellent cheap food. rice and beans for everyone! andrew, when are you heading back to the red?

Not sure how far away you will be from Mendoza, Argentina but their is an awesome crag outside of that city called Los Arenales that has bolted sport routes and LOTS of trad with some bouldering too. I was there over spring break and spent three days climbing and trekking-there is an awesome "refugio" built by climbers that you can stay in for free, but you must bring in all your own food-there is plenty of fresh water to drink though. Hope that helps- Its some of the best sport climbing in Argentina and is real close to the border with chile. If you have time there is always Patagonia!
