Don't worry too much about gear for now. Just work on building your strength and endurance. If you absolutely have to have new gear, take a look at mountaingear.com.

Shoes, harness, and chalk
Will get the job done for now

If it is expensive, then it has to be worth it. so just go to your local shop and buy a bunch of expensive shit.....especially if you don't know what they do, but they look extra sweet!
