when i place a good piece of pro - i kinda look look for a second with satisfaction. once i'm about five feet above it it becomes crappy piece of shit. heaven/hell cycle - ya know.

What if all 3 pieces blow? He did have two blow. This blew his mind. Does he or does he not know how to evaluate his protection options? Some people never seem to learn. You know, like how people drive for years and still are terrible drivers. Yet they still are back-seat drivers. They don't seem to be able to tell the difference.

I know how to evaluate my placements, I'm damn good at building anchors, comes from working as an AMGA guide for the last few summers
I know I have the technical trad skills, and that the incidennt in VA was because I chose to climb through a really freaking chossy section.. but still, I guess I'm a puss

I'm kinda out of commision for a long while, but there are plenty of traddies better than me to help you. Freaky falls have a way of messing up your lead head. The only thing that helped me through it was taking a couple unexpected falls and seeing how casual they were. I just kept climbing until it happened.
