Man, you might have just twisted the shit out of it. I have done that during a drop knee before.

SCIN, if the pain lasts, don't ignore it like I did... see a doctor. Trust me. I just had surgery on my knee and as a bonus am now facing knee replacement. I had no idea it was this bad. Don't screw around.

I would second that. I had injured both of my knees when I was in college from carrying a very heavy pack through boulder fields on several mountaineering trips. Then when I started sport climbing & indoor bouldering more recently it re-agrivated the injury. It was the same thing, pain on the inside of the knee. Fortunately I have dodged the surgery through some excercises taught to me by the yoga teacher who works with the Bengals & Reds on sports injuries. It is basically an opposing muscle excercise just like you would do push-ups for a shoulder injury or pronators for an elbow injury. Kinda hard to explain in words so I would have to show it to you.

The ileotibial band (ITB) is on the outside of the knee. ITB syndrome is often described as someone stabbing a knife into the outside of your knee and it's a pretty accurate description.

I'd suggest you take it easy on the knee this week and see how it feels. If it doesn't hurt next weekend, try a gentle drop knee or two to feel it out. If that's good, you should be good in a week or two after that. If it still hurts after a couple of weeks, time to see a professional. There is a lot of cartilage in the knee and any cartilage will heal very slowly. Hopefully it's just a bit of a strain and nothing to serious, we hope.

I twisted my knee a couple of years ago. I was trying to keep one of the patients at the hospital from falling and I fell off a rolling stool. Mine hurt on the inside too. Healing time was about two weeks. Tylenol, icing, hobbling.

Hope it doesn't hurt long, Sir. Hogenius would look rediculous dancing by his little self!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Mine is finaly starting to heal up from what ever I did to it a week ago. I had ran 4 miles durning my lunch break and lost track of time and went back to my desk without cooling off. When I stood back up after a few hours I couldn't walk a quater mile without limping in pain.
