i guess if you are going to dedicate your life to something you might as well go all the way. he is probably one of the elite few wino's with multiple online fan clubs.
i guess he has good brand value.

The whole Henry Earl thing really came to light nationaly when he was mentioned on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. All the attention to Mr Earl created a rush to the Fayette County Jail's website, which promptly crashed and caused officials to limit public access to the site. Kimmel wanted to take Earl to the Super Bowl and drink some beer with him.

Anybody around Lexington ever dealt with 'Crazy Shouting Pointing Guy'?
There are 2 that I know of. The main one, long brown curly hair (don't know his name) is a Vietnam vet that's always walking around talking to himself. Hangs out close to your neighborhood.
The other has short blond (kinda balding) hair and walks around seriously imbalanced and pissed off most of the time. He freaks me out, always throwing a tantrum about something. That guy's probably a little dangerous.

I believe thats the guy. I've heard his backstory from a local lawman, but forgot it maybe to keep the my own myth going in my head. I think he's fairly homeless and has kin that live in the Kenwick neighborhood. Usually see him on Winchester or Main at the east end of downtown Lex. I love local characters. I really love that for a town its size, Lexington really has some notable characters that stick out in people's minds.

oh, you're talking about Jack who lives in Kenwick. The guy is usually without a shirt and long brown hair with a beard? He's not a vietnam vet, he's only 35 but looks A LOT older. Jack is a really simple case of how some people fall through the cracks. My one-time neighbor, Janice Dinwiddie (no I didn't make that up), told me that his family lived in Kenwick for years.
His folks were killed in a car wreck in the late 80's and he was left to his grandma at about 14 or 15 years of age. Of course, he kinda ran wild and dropped out of school and just developed the habits you see him with now. His grandma died a few years later, left him the house, and he never really got the help he needed.
offer that dude a beer sometime when he's not looking too pissed off. He always says hello to my wife when she's out walking. Maybe because she's a cute blonde but maybe because he has seen her in that neighborhood for the last 20 years..
There's no big story on that dude. He's just a dude.

There is a recent addition to the crazy population recently. She's a large woman who can go from smiling to raving within .3 seconds. I've seen her hanging out near the courthouse but just recently saw her way out Winchester Rd near the interstate. I think her name is Maria but I'm not sure, she was muttering...
She's not your typical crazy person either; someone must take good care of her (or she takes good care of herself) as she is always clean, brushed hair, etc...
She'll smile at me when I pass her to go to lunch and swear at me when I pass her again on my way back to work. (but I get the same reaction from a lot of people, mostly friends)

A guy across the street from me said that he and his roomates came home one night from bar hopping, they'd left the door unlocked and James was sleeping on their couch.

Sounds similar to Crazy Mary in Frankfort. Sad, but still good for the occasional laugh.
