Everybody I guess..We all have this need to catagorize...well..everything! It's the need of the few or the one mentality that is the global reflection of mankind's collective soul at present...Perhaps one day we will shift over to a need of the many outweighs the need of the few or the one mentality and actually start to evolve again...

What is wrong about being categorized? Isn't it just about the same as your parents picking out a name for you?

P.S. Sorry about hijacking the thread ho... somebody post something about Buddhism!

Agree'd, my apologies Hor....More on topic. My sister is a Buddhist and the phillosophies associated with it really helped her deal with being bi-polar..It can be a failry deep belief system and I have a good deal of respect for it myself..

It's an artifact of language. Words are essentially labels. You only escape it by abandoning language. That's probably more Zen than Buddhist, though.

actually, this thread kinda backfired on me. i'm really not studying budhism or anything, although i do like some of the ideas. i was really hoping people would make fun of me for wanting to be religious...that way i would be happy about the fact that open-minded people criticize all religions and not just christianity. it seems that's wrong though.

That was a quick backslide. But not unexpected.
