Speaking of which, my *new* rope (which was given to me by a concerned and very cool partner) sprung a new core shot this weekend. It is close enough the the end where I can cut it, and still have pretty close to a 50 meter rope, as I already had to cut the other end due to another core shot. So, this means I have to pull the rope I retired (the one that inspired Mark to give me his old rope) out and start using it again on longer routes.

Toad wrote:Old climbing ropes, if they aren't too large in diameter, are great for bondage as they don't cut into the skin when wrapped around select body parts. They shed candle wax well, too. And don't get me started about the colors. Chicks dig the colors. After a few bouts in the dungeon, then you can think about really retiring the rope.

Probably in better shape then my current rope. Although the one you have is the one I did a bunch of ice climbing in. Nothing like trying to set your front points a couple times, and upon not being able to, look down to see your rope stuck in the middle of two sharp pieces of metal.

Good advice Toad. I guess you could use webbing to make a sex sling as well.

So, since I trashed the rope that was given to me to replace the scary one that I was climbing on, I reverted back to the scary rope for the last couple weeks. Today, I broke down and bought a new rope. Sterling 9.8, 70 meters, bi-color. Super bright yellow. Christioned it from the chains of Herd Mentality. The look on Meadows face when I hung the anchor draws, didn't clip the rope, let my feet cut, and said "You ready" was classic.

I like to do that to Karla at the top of the steep lead wall at the gym. I don't think she likes it too well because it picks her way up off the ground.
