We have 2.5 year old triplet girls who have been going to the crag with us since about 2 months of age. It is definitely more challenging taking children to the crag and you have a little planning to do but it is well worth it!!!!

We always made sure to pack lots of toys and snacks. Also start out going to areas that are too much a hike in. The more you do it the more you will know what works best for your family. As your daughter gets used to going it will get easier. My girls LOVE to be outside and though occaisionally get fussy they are usually very good while we are out!

We used to take them to Torrent and Drive By alot when they were tiny. We carried them up in their infant car seats and they would gaze up at their crazy parents and wish they could walk!!! No seriously they slept most of the time then. I think is was actually easier because now they are into EVERYTHING!!!! They even want to help belay!

I see my face in the back between the tent and SUV. Don't take the baby to Fortress. It's notorious for loose stuff on the ledge above.

Hugh and Di have been bringing Amelia to the crag since she was a few months old. They're careful to bring plenty of toys and food. Amel isn't obtrusive and is generally fun to be around. Obviously, she cries occasionally, gets fussy occasionally but so do most rock climbers that I know. The kewl thing about her is that when she's fussy, you can put her down for a nap. I'd like to do that to some people at the cliff on occasion

There are many occasions (especially at work!!) - not just at the cliff - when fussy people need to have a nap.
