unless you have endurance I wouldn't call this the breakthrough for the grade climb. It's closer to the hard end of .12a. That said it's a great climb, being the worst route on the Undertow Wall makes it the best climb pretty much anywhere else, so I wouldn't worry too much about not having fun on it. It's only mindless when you've done it hundreds of times or as mentioned have mad endurance. Otherwise, you got to be thinking about how to save the gas in the tank for the finish, and get the finish wired or you'll 1 hang this route over & over.

I think it's a fun route, but then that and Ale-8 are pretty much the only routes whose anchors I can get to on the Undertow Wall.

If you want a list of climbs for next year, I wouldnt put chainsaw on it. There are better routes at the red to do that are of this grade or around this grade. for instance....
Stain
Mercy da huff
wild yet tasty
sex farm
hard core jolies
go easy billy clyde
infidel
check your grip
infectious
to many puppies
Everything at the Solar Collector
american dream
twinkie
Then if you do all those there are those routes at miliscary. Everything I named off is way better than chainsaw. you will have alot more fun on those and actually learn how to rock climb, instead of paddle up good holds.

Yea, do all of those above but do NOT do Chainsaw! Whatever you do, please do not do Chainsaw. It will totally screw your climbing up for life! I used to be able to climb until I climbed Chainsaw. Now I get totally confused on routes if they're not just like Chainsaw. I repeat, whatever you do, do NOT put Chainsaw on your list of climbs to do next year. It will completely ruin you! Be sure to climb all of the routes mentioned above, but DO NOT do Chainsaw!

I dont want anyone in my way when i am trying to send the bastard this next year. that is why i gave the homey a different list of routes to do, so he would stay off of my long term project. you have seen how busy it gets there, I want more than 2 tries on it in a day man. so I guess i will just come out and say it, if you go and get on chainsaw I will have to put a mushroom bruise across your forhead.

pigsteak wrote:If you don't send then there is absolutely NO reason to even begin to get on a climb. If you don't send and then move on, then don't even think about spraying to others "oh I've been on that climb..it was alot of fun." (You can't know a climb is fun until you have climbed it bottom to top, no falls.) Until then, you are merely a tourist on a trip, and not a local on the route. It's all about the numbers. None of this "enjoying a climb". Have a great day.
Hey piggie piggie. Here's a list of routes that I LOVE to get on and TR. They're way over my head but so fun to hang all over.
Mercy
Ale-8-1
Tuna Town
Gung Ho
Tissue Tiger
Bare Metal
Mama Benson
To name a few. Sooo
