where to go for one day of sport climbing in red river gorge

am headed to louiseville, ky for over thanksgiving. and am looking to get away from family for a day of sport climbing. heard good things about red river gorge and have never been there. any suggestions of what area would provide a good selection of 5.8-5.11 sport routes for one day of climbing. thanks tvanstrate2000

The weather sites aren't all that accurate. Yesterday, weather.com said it would rain all weekend. Now, its going to be cloudly tomorrow and sunny on Sunday.

In all honesty I'd go by one of the local station's radar image if I was looking to see if it is raining in the Gorge, when it will move out, or when it might hit. As for trusting the weather forecast off of the internet or TV, better to take it as advice and not gospel. And never, ever trust the 'long range' forecast.

Weather.com = Pessiweather

At least that's what it seemed list this past spring. I haven't really compared them much lately.

I figure why fuck with the middle men? Go straight to the source. NOAA is where all weather information originates. Yet another example of liberal goverment beaurocracy at work. If you read the discussions you'll get an idea of how difficult it is to predict weather around here. They speak in the kind of real world terms scientists and farmers use. None of them will ever be politicians.

Oh, and there are no ads or pop-ups.
