I never say that post about you climbing Shockley's. Glad you got on it. That roof is such a blur in my mind because we were racing nightfall.
I'd say the ratings at the Gunks and Seneca felt pretty similar.

The gunks are certainly one of the premier areas on the east coast,there
are climbs in the guide with no stars that are truely classic!!Also,The Peterskill area has recently been re-opened to climbing so this may ease some congestion.Bring the pad as well ,the bouldering is just as cool as the climbing!!Also worth checking out the Adirondak Park in up-state New York for a more wilderness type experience.
