Bummer, hope you heal up asap. Its waaay cool that you can keep such a positive take on your trip in light of your break. Were you able to use your EMT skills on yourself ?! Thanks for all the nuts and bolts beta, it sounds like the camping there is fairly cush.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

Thanks for the support, ladies & gents.
I finally made it to the ortho today and he said both breaks appear to be non-displaced so I won't have to have surgery. He said if I were to hit it again or something and either break were to slip, then he'll have to insert screws. I'm hoping that doesn't happen. Anyhow, I'm out 3 mos non-weight bearing and then rehab. I'm figuring that'll be about 4 to 5 mos total.
And no Steve, I didn't get to use any EMT skills on myself because I didn't have a splint in my first aid kit and I didn't wanna wrap it because of the swelling. Although, I did get to put my McGuyver skills to work and make a crutch out of a camara tripod. That outta count for something.
(edited because I can't freakin' spell)
