I don't see the point in the guidebook for the preserve. If that were the only area the RRGCC worked with, then that would be different. The RRGCC website should be loaded with easily accessed information regarding all aspects of climbing in the area. Leave the guidebook to the people who have shown great ability to disseminate information for all climbs in the area, not just the preserve.

As the entity that will manage and own the preserve, I think it's nitpicking to have a problem with a guide book to the climbs on the preserve. Who doesn't do that? Any publicly accessed property will have a map or maybe descriptions of what they have to offer. If that is taking resources away from what maybe more urgent , then there is an argument for that . I don't get the re-occuring angst or bashing of whether communication is adequate or not. I know they've responded well, and they've responded poorly. There has never been a question which I could imagine I needed an immeadiate response , or even one that mattered so much that I got one at all. It's climbing rocks. I knew what 'avoid the southern region' meant and the potential headache non-compliance could cause, yet there we went through all that shit about " so is it closed , or not?" I do know they've been 'baited' several times, which led only to the long thread where eventually peoples feelings are hurt. The whole discussion of the rrgcc has been ongoing for several years on this board and others, and has been followed by alot of people. People who will agree with you and the other way around. It's too bad it becomes personal at times. As leadership members of the rrgcc maybe any official response should carry a different user-name or be labeled as such.
But as members of a climbing community , they should also be allowed their own personal oppinion or level of depravity as anyone else on the site. Don't let things get so personal .
I'm guilty of assigning personalities and all manner of attributes to people here , whom I've never met, people who I wouldn't want representing me in a legal matter or some I would.
It's just so frustrating to hash through the crap. I don't know how much of the recent posts stem from personal differences , but it's hard to rule that out as a lurker. This is a forum for people who love to climb and especially at the gorge. There happens to be an organization who supports those same 2 ideals. None of us are perfect , and we all do it for no CASH.

sorry to post this under your thread sqeezendelemmon, sounds like you are fishing for positive oppinions. that's what is needed. My post is just from several threads scattered about the site.
