? Ask geezer or tbone. I would assume the reason it is closed is because Rick and Liz want the area's sport routes to be of the highest quality (certain bolt, certain bolt hanger, certain anchor) and this is to be the same for all routes. Mass groups of Hilti packin sport climbers would ignorantly disregard these rules.
Not a bitch.

Furthermore, they are getting the land ready for frequent use. Look up Geezer's (Rick Weber) comments for further details.

there are no 'established' trails as of yet... another reason why access is still by invitation only/permission... everyone involved are working hard to get it open soon, though...

Meadows is correct, they are getting the land ready for frequent use (ie: natural preserve, hiking, picnic areas)... it's not only supposed to be for climbers.

Rick and Liz are working very hard to improve the parking and trail systems, and Jared, TBone, and others are working very hard to develop routes.

BTW: here's some shots from a few weeks ago:

so is anyone going to get on something worth talking about or what!
Oh man, he is messing that up. However, he is missing his left leg so that way would probably be harder for him. SCIN, just before spraying some beta for a climber doing a route the WRONG way.

goodguy, why are you such a wanker? Why don't you get on "something worth talking about" as opposed to sitting in the gym and masterbating all over your newest set of SoIll holds?
In case you misunderstood, I wasn't soloing in reality. I was just bouldering the beginning of that route. I see no glory in soloing... unless it gets you on the cover of Rock & Ice.

You think you know everything don't you! I don't masterbate on new holds, I masterbate on old ones, and right now I've actually been masterbating all over my new Nissan mini-van! So what you think about that!!

Woo hoo! What is it about all of you bloomingtonites that makes you want to drive min-vans? You are like a bunch of middle-aged soccer moms getting their panties all in a bunch over their new Toyota Sienna. I swear, every time I pull up to a crag at the gorge and see 9 mini-vans I know that I'm going to be climbing with a bunch of fucking hosers... i mean hoosiers.

anyway, new holds/old holds, what's the difference. The fact is, while the rest of us are out there masterbating on real rock, you bloomington wankers are sitting at home sticking it to the plastic. Get outside!
