I heard on the 26th that she was going to be induced the following day. So chances are there's a little Gretchen new to this world.
Does he have a strange bear claw like appendage protruding from his neck? He kep petting it.

poor Gretchen. Induction is a helluva hard way to do it. I hope she fared well and that the little one is healthy. Someone tell us!

Yes, Sandy, I know I'm being way too serious, but one really should only eat the placenta of other species. While it's a super-long shot, one could get CJD (the human form of Mad Cow Disease) while engaging in pseudo-cannibalism, along with some other nasty diseases.
The thought of eating placenta makes me a bit queasy, but in part that's because I don't really like non-muscle tissue meat (a.k.a. "sweetmeats" or "innards"). As a kid I was fed Jeternicky, which is the Slovak sausage equivalent to Haggis. blech.
Bacon is meat candy.
