I still don't understand why the movie isn't playing at every theatre... if it is better than Vertical Limit (which I've heard it was, and IMO it wouldn't take much) why are they not showing it everywhere? Trying to keep the movie some sort of a secret? From the list above, the closest the movie will get to me is 3 and a half hours away.

I highly doubt the list is complete. It is just the first one I saw.
And Vertical Limit was more of a main stream movie than Touching the Void. Big budget, big stars, big boobs, big explosions wins over high quality every day.
Or you could call your local art house/indy theater and see if they can get it. It won't hurt to ask.
