If there is a high level of concern about 'them' reading our rants, then here's a system that would make it a lot harder:

Registered users would only be allowed access to the 'restricted' areas after they post, say, 10 times. Then their posts could be quickly reviewed to see if they appear to be actual climbers, and if so, they would be 'authorized'.

I realize that it's fairly paranoid and labor intensive. Personally, I kind of doubt that the stuff on this board would be terribly interesting to Charmagne. It might be of interest to the FS, but they would be mostly interested in the stuff on the Sport and Trad forums: new route activity, rumors of 'secret' crags, etc.

Netscape has an awesome system to control cookies... goto the "tools" menu in your browser. Click on "Cookie Manager". From there you can "Block Cookies from this site" in your window or "Manage Stored Cookies". In the Cookie Manager, you can add sites that you want to store cookies or that you don't want to store cookies. You can also remove all cookies. When you remove cookies you can select to not have that same cookie stored later.
