Dirt, if you think I am going to play doctor with you, well you need some new Meds. Maybe you should go and check with a close family member?

Dirt, you were the one who asked me first. And the answer is NO. At least not with you.
Artsay, you really are taking what I say way to seriously. I might be saying things that seem mean. And I was definatly including myself in all those rants. But, sometimes those things need to be said. I don't want anyone to take this stuff personally, just generally.

I don't get upset or hurt from your words and I don't take it personally. I just think it's crazy that you're posting on a RRG website about what a wasteland Kentucky is and how all climbers are losers.

I can see your point. Of course, this is the flame board. And KY is pretty frozen right now. And all climbers are losers. Well, most of them anyway. Including me for sure.

Artsay you are a wise and sincere person, just as I have always known Wes to be, the its all about me attitude that some climbers go thru is funny, its like the terrible twos or something, warmth is from the heart the rest is just weather. Hope to hell I get a chance to boulder some with Wes this year.

Thanks for your compliment, Crankmas.
As for the topic, I could talk for hours about climber idiosyncracies! BUT....I honestly think it's hurtful to attack people on a public forum and dis on their choice of activity or home crag. Discussion and opinionated arguments are healthy but calling me a loser because I'm proud of a 5.10 crack send or a poser because I toprope only is neither constructive or helpful. And calling the RRG a wasteland when it's a well known world-class climbing area has no merit. So to say that on a forum provided to people who love the RRG is just mean. My opinion...

Yeah but a little climber bashing is sometimes needed to make people reflect on why they climb. It seems like Wes is criticizing those who climb with an overly present ego; people yet to discover all that climbing has to offer. In some aspects this is all of us - yes even Wes (as he included himself in the critique).
Wes is being an ass in delivering this overly negative criticism. But, he is doing it in a forum populated by those who know him enough to understand he is just having fun.
Welcome back Loser!!!!
