I find, that as long as you are the worst one that smells...you will never smell anyone else

10 days is the longest i have been without a shower this was on a appalachian trail hike. the a/t is very steep in sections so you will sweat and get stinky. the trick to not showering is nobody in your party is allowed to bathe unless everyone bathes. because as soon as you bathe you will IMMEDIATELY notice how terrible everyone else smells.

Did you feed beans to those boys with the broken-down truck? Because I woke up in the middle of the night and I don't know that it was snoring I heard rumbling over from their bags.....P-U - now THAT was an offensive odor. You may need to install some extra venilation in the Monestary on 239 Bean nights.

When I was up in the middle of the night....Chris would let one off then giggle in his sleep.

AH HA - so that WASN'T the squirrel - I had my suspicions, what do expect from a guy who crotchets his own socks. Just kidding Chris, I respect and admire your domestic talents. Hope you made it back to Colorado on time.

i once was told to take a shower by a tourist in ynp, i told her if she'd pay, i would take one. she declined. i was also told by a 7 yr old in ynp that i smelled. we bathed by jumping in the merced river. when in the red i wash up at the shell or jump in the resevoir, never pay for showers even on 2 wk trips.

My brother and I went 80 days w/o a shower on a canoe trip. After about a month, we both got empetigo on our hands from chronic dirt syndrome. Took all the pennicillin we had for a few weeks and ran out. It didn't go away til we hit civilization again.

Sounds like a bet was involved although I have canoed waters I'd rather not dip my hand in, you'd think somewhere in that first 60 or so you could've risked it?
