I have run across several openly gay male climbers, not that there is anything wrong with that. Once, when I was on crazyfingers, a guy belaying his partner on AWOL yelled out "You are an ANALmal" kinda like animal but not.

Trust me not all lesbian's are rough &tumble. My roomate was way feminine. I wish I had half the energy that she did to look good. And I had a friend Todd who was much more "woman" then me. I had a friend Jeff who was a baseball player/beer guzzler and I had to paint his Jeep and change his tires. But I look damn hot when I dress up, slap on the war paint and nasty heels! Honestly I think it's a load of crap and sexist. For Christmas I am going to buy a label maker and run around tagging everyone!
Just genuinely disengenuous.

How is that stereotyping Rhunt? Japanese have an awesome diet that keeps them thin and healthy. In fact, a recent study found that tofu has some agent that helps keep weight off (not to mention green tea, which has a lot of attention right now). Nori, I believe, has a lot of iron and other nutrients.

I love Nori. Unfortunatly it makes me get a rash on my entire body, then I hove to go to the hospital before my throat closes up.

I'm pretty sure that loren is gay. Maybe Wes too. I heard that they are into that beard on beard action. Other than that, I don't really know any gay climbers. Oh yeah, Merrick too. It's easy to tell with him though because of his fascination with big gear and cheerleading outfits.
In case you misunderstood, I wasn't soloing in reality. I was just bouldering the beginning of that route. I see no glory in soloing... unless it gets you on the cover of Rock & Ice.

Oh, I suppose I said the wrong thing.
Really, I'm asking you to sterotype, make genralizatins, etc.

But here is how many people view generalizations and sterotypes:
for example-
Said: man, jon is late alot. Its cause he stays up too late.
Heard: JON YOU WILL NEVER GET AWAY FROM BEING LATE T|YOU ARE A CURSE TO HUMANITY BECAUSE YOU ARE ALWAYS LATE CAUSE YOU ARE ALWAYS AWAKE AT NIGHT CAUSE YOU SPEND TO MUCH TIME DOING IMORALTHINGS LIKE FLOGGING THE PHARASIE AND YOU ARE NEVER ANYTHING MORE THAN SOMEONE WHO IS LATE LATE, LATE LATE HA HA HA HA HA I HAVE POWER OVER YOU BECAUSE I HAVE CALLED YOU A LATEY-A## HA HA HA HA HA MUH HA HA HA!

This is how many people react to a generalization, particularly if it involves anything to do with gender or sexuality.

"they are so sveltve and strong"..Japanese
"not that there is anything wrong with that"..openly gay men running around
"have an awesome diet that keeps them thin and healthy"..Japanese again
"way more into fashion and theater than nature"....gay men again
"little bruce lee climber"...wanna guess..yup, asian comment
"are cosmopolitan"...gay men

yawn..I guess you guys think if it is clothed in a "compliment", it isn't stereotyping? btw, my college roommate was Japanese, and fat as a pig..can i use him to generalize what the Japanese are like?

but then to the bleeding heart liberals out there, get over yourselves.."labelling", or whatever you want to call it to make it sound negative, is a part of getting to know someone. We all label ourselves climbers, and are proud. Some gay people wear their "gay" label, others prefer to walk quietly...

There is no such thing as a color blind society, gender neutral atmosphere, or asexual mother earth....our unique differences make this an awesome place to live. Stand up, be labelled, and be proud that your unique qualities make up this great US of A.

Hi, I am Piggie. I am a pseudo white collar lackey of german descent with big ears (oink, oink) and a small penis. (that's why I am the troll..making up for my inadequacies.)

Pig:

No you can't generalize just because you know one, and plus you don't seem to know what stereotype means. Your roommate is actually deviant from the norm, research will tell you that. I didn't say the comment because I know one person; rather, I said it because I have done research on it and I'm around Japanese often, many of them.

you are around Japanese, or Japanese-Americans? Because the studies I have seen show that once Asians come to America, and start eating the Americanized diet, all "healthy" traits are basically gone. So unless you are talking about Japanese still living on the mainland...
