Rags, you're right ... I should go to other countries. However, if I ever decide to become fluent in Espanol, Spain is the place to go (for me that is, I know others will have another preference).
Well the temp in hell can't be worse than KY in late July/early August!!!

i have found i have learned alot by returning to places i have been before. a return helps me understand my initial trip. I am seeing the place as more of an insider than before. traveling is a state of mind not a checklist and returning to an area that you have been to before can allow you to learn more than the first time you were there.

good point, Merrick. I like the concept of traveling as a state of mind rather than a checklist. I consider my travels as some of the most important things I've ever done and that includes inside the north American continent and out. One needs to see other perspectives to build his/her own
