stronghand..you are my hero bro..standing up to the self serving community at the red...
now, we need to deal with allah....that psuedo god needs some rapture on his ass...
i brought one of my little buddies this weekend to the red, and after he onsighted three 12a's, he humbly told us they were not onsights because of all the chalk that led him up....he said they could be construed no better than a flash, because the chalk gave him running beta. I respected his honesty in that venue...now if we all could be so humble.

Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.
Does it even matter if he called it a flash or an onsite? It's not like this was some superhuman onsiting a 5.14 or something. It's not really "pressworthy" so it shouldn't matter what it was considered.
I'm not taking away from what he did. I'm just saying that it really doesn't matter "down here" where we all are. Beneath the Humes, Sharmas, Browns, LeGrands, etc.

Piggy, that would be true ONLY if we all hold to the same moral standards as you. Some people may not put the same value on humility as you do. I would be willing to bet the majority of people would call what your friend did an "onsight" and not feel a bit bad about doing it. You should probably take some of the best advice ever given on this site and climb for yourself and not worry about trying to instill values into this "meaningless pursuit of what we do for fun".

...quitting drinking is kinda like washing your hands after you take a crap...why start now?
SCIN,
another thought...so only those climbing at the highest level need to worry about "standards" and "labelling" their climb appropriately?
what about that dude who called his new climb 5.15 something, and the Huber brother called it into question. shouldn't alex huber just climb for himself, and not worry about that guy?
my buddy happens to be keeping track of his progress, and wanted to clraify to us that these climbs were not true onsights in his mind...that's all I was pointing out, and I respect that.
