In my home town (declining steel industry blue collar neighborhoods) , while in high school, everyone seemed to be really skeptical of people trying to make it in a band or other performance art. They were all just "fags". Those guys got no respect. And in the end, most of the people who really thought they were something have never made it anywhere in that vocation. So in a sense we may have been on target. But in reality I think its just a very tough business to make a go at and really takes a lot of balls. I still seem to harbor some lingering skepticism about it. But I think we all were secretly wanabe rock stars at one time or another. My guitar still stands cased in a corner of the room collecting dust in my house paying homage to those desires.
But I seriously think what your doing is very cool.
Best wishes for your continued success.
