The Army Corp still owns it, but they have let the Forest Service manage this property, thus, we're back to the FS regs again. Nice try SCIN, but I thought of that angle a while back and found out the FS was involved anyway. They still might have somewhat relaxed standards on development though.

What about bolting mank and choss? can I bolt a gravel parking lot?

While I am not a fan of hour-long approaches, I am more and more realizing that lots more developement will be critical as the number of users at the Red increases. Slap in them bolts, elves, chains and whatnot! (Plus, better route names are called for with those new lines of yours - perhaps more in the vein of 'women in prison' films? "Caged Heat"? "Slammer Girls"? "Angels in Chains"? Hmmmm?)

Ray- Drop a line off the back side of the top approx. 1/8 mi toward the road (from the jail house rock itself). Biggest ampatheater I've seen, plus a pair of 140' unclimbed, hard, but a little chossy cracks. And a 40' that looks about 5.11.

I think there are about 5 decent trad lines off that side. Lots of potential for sport climbing(heavy cleaning).

Also- look closely at topo maps to the east of slade and you will find a back way in- hike will only take 20 minutes.

I have a friend that works in the Louisville Army Corp office that may be of some help if you need to go through that office for permission. He is a senior level engineer within the Corp.
