To be fair, just because they aren't published doesn't mean they aren't "open." This ain't a new Applebee's location...

I do agree though that another kiosk is unlikely to last and lower priority than getting a sustainable parking area sorted out for the Lode, Bear's Den, CF, & Sore Heel connector trail.

the 10k, anyone know how that breaks down? road grading/rip rap? and is there/has there been a plan developed for any specific parking changes?

The bike trails take absolutly nothing from the rrgcc budget and actually makes money from the grant for additional property maintance while helping get exposure to new groups and gov office. Road, parking lot and trail maint have all used that money....

Your posts just shows your ignorance and lack of trying to get right info.They are not only bike trails but access to a lots of climbing. But , boy oh boy, y'all sure are witty....That area has never ever been closed, again, you're just posting wrong information.,..

I guess 8 knee surgeries recently , with a pending total replacement is not a good excuse for writing up the climbs and mapping the trails. I'd apologize if I gave a shit.... It's people like you two that makes me exstatic and with zero regret about handing over the land manager job and walking away from any public service , land maint, and development of trails or routes, you're welcome...

There are a few really great ways to stay up to speed on the happenings around the red. We have already had several open board meetings this year. This information stays up to date on www.rrgcc.org as well as the RRGCC Facebook page.

Johnny and Alex trail day is coming up this summer which is a great way to help maintain all the infrastructure that is being mentioned.

We are currently accepting applications for new board members. Please visit the above mentioned web sites if you are interested in donating your time and energy.

In the mean time please know there is a small army of folks working on the road issues etc. many of these are county roads so we can not proceed with anything without going through the proper channels. That includes respecting the oil companies that hold the mineral rights to the property.

Needless to say Mother Nature has been working against these efforts as all involved parties need dryer weather to move forward.

Oh and I just wanted to throw out that all the work that is done, has been done and will be done is by volunteers. That is something that we as a volunteer board are very proud of.

Time and energy are the most precious resources. If you have those, we need them!

kafish2 and der uber: If you guys want to and have the time, maybe you could get in touch with Matt and see about helping map out the new bike trail and collect data on the new trails/routes? If we all do a little, nobody has to do a lot (and Tackett has been doing a lot... for a lot of years). Nobody is trying to keep Flat Holler a secret - it's a lack of resources that has kept that information offline.

rro, if you're out there, i apologize if my question upset you and i'm saddened to hear of your exasperation, i hope your knees recover fully.

i'm hoping to take a week off over the next month to spend in the gorge, i'd be happy to walk around in the woods and mark up some topo maps if that's whats needed...even cutting trail along the way if i know where it's supposed to go...
