Take it to the crag??? why would I do that. I was going to get it signed by that dreamy guide book author and have it framed for above my fire place.

Yeah, I agree with that... my 2nd edition copy got pretty beat up, but that was when I was a "noob" and didn't know my way around the gorge... my 3rd edition copy stays in pristine condition... it doesn't leave my house. Really, it doesn't leave either my living room or my bathroom, lol. I like to play this game where I have people read me a description to a route and I tell them what route, its grade, and where its located. I'm pretty good, actually I'm a champ, undefeated. I plan to keep my 4th edition (both parts) in a locked glass case in my living room. People can see it, but not touch it... I'll only turn the pages with a pair of tweezers... these will be special tweezers that won't be used for anything but touching the 4th edition guides.

What's going on in that bathroom Todd? Are the pages around Ray's bio stuck together?

Tweezers will damage the pages. Try white cloth gloves, which is what you'd use for a priceless book.

There are such things as book protectors on the market, FYI, for those worried about damaging their books.

todd, a real climber would also know the developer, fa, and ffa of every route..otherwise, it is a game of no consequence.

Two new books for 150 new routes... Wow, is that worth $50?

I will not be buying this round of guidebooks... Maybe I will wait a year and buy the next edition...

I think this is a great deal and the books look very good. I just started climbing at the RED last summer so I will getting one for this year's climbing. Purchasing one from my gym when they get them in. Great work everyone.
