Your link doesn't work but yeah my map suggests WMA too.. those maps are always highly approximate though, and generally boundaries follow clifflines... but not always. Sounds like Kipp has done the research in any case... bottom line, we need to get KYFWD on our side.
Re: Ondra Patrol
There is a question if Purgatory is even on our land...draw a line from Purgatory across the valley to the furthest leftmost route at North 40....anything past that is not ours....Bill, am I correct?
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

Re: Ondra Patrol
Based upon co-ordinates and that map, Purgatory is actually on Ashland WMA... but I wasn't going to bring that up.
Re: Ondra Patrol
sure looks like it anyway... sounds like a hornets nest alright (pardon the timely reference!). in my experience, property lines are an approximate and flexible construct in eastern Kentucky... share your land and don't piss people off, and they will generally be ok with sharing theirs. that's why I think the attempt to ban ATVs in the PMRP is a dumb idea and an aggressive survey could backfire.

i love the idea that that map will clarify anything. i feel like we should do some absentee balloting to figure it out

Re: Ondra Patrol
It is more academic than anything. It is close to the line and Purgatory is well established. In all reality, I really don't think it would stir the pot much if a few super hard lines went in back in that area on Ashland WMA. Mainly because of access to it. No new roads or parking areas being traveled.clif wrote:

Re: Ondra Patrol
I always chuckle when climbers feel it's OK to bend the rules a little, when it's to their benefit... And I agree with Dustin, share and share alike. Banning ATVs would not bring good karma.

I am pretty sure you have taken advantage of some "rule bending" over the years....rjackson wrote:I always chuckle when climbers feel it's OK to bend the rules a little, when it's to their benefit... And I agree with Dustin, share and share alike. Banning ATVs would not bring good karma.

You might think, but most of my exploits include due diligence and interpretation as opposed to bending...
