i don't understand why you feel an obligation to bolt routes? by the public response to rebolting efforts it seems there are a number of people who would bolt if they had the guidance and experience necessary to do the work responsibly. i don't want to imply that the effort you and others have contributed is not appreciated, only that it may be an unnecessary burden.

man, do i not want this to get personal. i only suspect that there are many more people other than myself who would love the experience of discovering naive rock and working to make it a destination. i can't say for sure, but it seems like the limiting factor is not desire, but rock, which is why i can see some value in having an untapped supply of rock for future dreamers.

In cases of legitimate rock rape, bolts are rejected by the rock's natural inherent mechanisms.
