Well the tetons are so beautiful and all but i think i have become a southeastern girl at heart. besides if you don't ski, and i don't, you wouldn't really fit in here in the winter. i am so stoked to see you all and i plan to be back for the party for sure! thanks for those offering up places to stay and work i so appreciate it. and sandy i have been taking a lot of boring pictures because everytime i see something cool i don't seem to have my camera

You don't have to ski in the winter - you can snowboard too! Such a waste! :D JH is easily one of the ten best places in the world to ski/board.

Darch, do you ski it or are you like all the people with a Harley sticker who've never ridden one? Alta and Expert chutes, Thunder bumps, Toilet bowl- tell me you've dropped S&S and I'll be impressed!

I do ski/ride out at HJ, it's just that I suck. In your metaphor, I'm someone who owns a hog and loves it, but rides slowly. I love mountains like JH and Alta - they're just mountains that happen to have some lifts stuck to their sides. I hate places like Solitude, where you can see how much bulldozing has been done.

I'm nowhere near hitting stuff like S&S. I've only been to JH in early season (much cheaper!) - with more coverage I'd love to try the experts. I suspect that the result would involve starfishing down into the bowl below them, but I'm up for it!

As for bumps - I hate them! I'll spend my time traversing off into obscure corners of the Hobacks, thanks. Jackson Hole is amazing - I keep finding 'new' spots every time I'm there.

Hmmm.... maybe I should be booking a trip for this year.... think snow!

I used to snowboard in colorado before a bad accident ended my career and directed me happily towards climbing. i am way more interested in climbing on sandstone than surfing some powder this winter.

Mia, climbing rock is much safer than riding on snow! Sorry you had a bad experince. Welcome back to the Red, if and when! Tom'd' you've won my respect on attitude alone! You don't have to be extreme to have fun and great life experinces. Next time you're at JH try to drop over the pass to Grand Targee on a powder day you'll love it! You'll never ski all of JH in a lifetime! My first time was back in 89'. Dropped Corbets in 30" of fresh without 'starfishing' on my 42 nd birthday. I,ve never ski'd Utah but Alta would be the first place I'd go! If you get the chance ski A Basin, Loveland, Monarch and Wolf Creek they're right up your ally. I love the little places with the best snow and better local atmosphere!

Hey Ynot, yes I feel old when I don't know what the kids mean. If I figure it out I keep it to myself because they will accuse me of trying to recapture my youth.(except I never lost it)
