Sik, go out there at night when they are all in the hive and spray about 5 cans of hornet killer into the nest. Wear a face mask and eye goggles. Have a posse with you, just in case.
And pull the bolts on that squeeze job while you are there!
(Note: the previous statements are my personal opinion and NOT endorsed by the RRGCC.)

SikMonkey, Thats cool...how close is the nest to 'uncle jeds revenge'? I have been wanting to get back on that thing for a while...almost flashed it about three year ago when I was in shape!

There's a nest about 15-20 ft right of the start of King Me that has as much trafic as JFK Int.
It's doubled in size in the last couple of months. Last weekend we got on it, keeping my eye on the buggers the whole time and they didn't pay me a bit of attention.
Of course, Southern Region Wasps are probably meaner than SkyBridge wasps.

It's about 70 feet on down the trail from the John Henry/Uncle Jed's Revenge first bolt. I am guessing right in front of Cloudy Boner. (I am actually working John Henry, the one on the right. I plan to do UJR after I send John Henry though).
Jeff, I don't know how those hornets didn't get you being that close. I got stung on the top of Twisted at the Lode and that nest was at least 20 feet from me. Gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

No worries, I have been on Sono Bono a few times, and they left me totally alone. So, just leave it be.

...but it's the principle of the matter....If I leave that nest alone, then what next? Climb around a wasp nest when it's actually on the route I am on?

Gasoline works best.put it in a round bottom bowl,so it slides real good.Climb the climb.Have them send the bowl up to you then slide it right on them! It's a little heady going after wasps with gasoline but it works. They just drop straight off the nest with not so much as a quiver. It worked everytime that we did it while hanging tobacco.

You know, I was thinking...Killing all the bees or runnning them out of their hive just so you can clim the rout would be no different than me cutting down a tree so I can clim a rout....or spraiy painting trees so I can find a cliff. So do what you must but remember next time I see an awesome line behind a 100 year old tree...well the tree is comming down

Wasps suck, but you make the choice to climb near them. There are lots of other 12c's out there, maybe hangdog your way up one of them until the wasps go away for the winter
