I am equally bad at spraying, practice climbing, and climbing. Luckily for me my bad is better than your best.

Copy of an e-mail I sent to David Terrill, the owner of Land of the Arches Campground.

David,
I saw on Red River Climbing and on the Land of the Arches facebook page that the climbing wall inside the building at the campground is under construction again.
I wanted to send you a message to inform you that when I last worked on the climbing wall, it WAS NOT to the point where climbing holds should be attached. The condition that the climbing wall was in when I stopped working on it was only a mock up, sort of a test fit of all the plywood members.
As of this writing, I am unaware if the necessary reinforcements have been made to it to insure the safety of anyone that might climb on it. Only the top header, 2x6 was secured to the structure to a point where I, as the designer of it, feel it is safe.
Unless those that are continuing this work have attached the remaining 2x6s that support the plywood face of the climbing wall to the actual structure of the building, the risk is pretty high that the entire wall could collapse possibility injuring someone. PLEASE make sure that those that are in charge of this project see this e-mail and take the necessary steps to insure there will not be an accident.

Thank you for expressing your concern, Eric. Rest assured, the necessary reinforcements were added to the wall long before any hardware was affixed; it is as safe as any climbing. You built an awesome little wall and we thank you.

I was very concerned about the screws pulling through the shell of the building of the lathe being ripped loose from the screws. I'm glad whoever took over the project had enough knowledge to take care of this.
