Here are some photos from a trip on 1-5-12 to rockcastle that resulted in 3 new problems and a few new projects being put up on FS land.
A nice V3
A nice v4 variation to the above problem
Another v4 on the same boulder.
A v11? project on FS land.

Where is this? I live 5 minutes from the border of Rockcastle and Madison county and it'd be great to have a place to go that close.
Re: rock castle bouldering
ah crazyhair...just go read kafish again....
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.
Re: rock castle bouldering
kafish said that there's climbing on fs land that the forest service is ok with. Where is that?
Re: rock castle bouldering
Go to rock castle and take a left. Then another left, followed by one more left. Then take a right, after a bit take another right and the main side will be on your left. HAVE FUN!

Hot young thang (?) like crazyhair should have NO problem gettin a bunch of horny prepubescent dudes to show her around the boulders... isn't hookin' up, spraying all day, and taking pictures of chicks for your blog what bouldering is all about???
Re: rock castle bouldering
just get a fuckin tanktop, move the decimal to the right on whatever climb you're trying, spray straight out your asshole all while holding you nose an inch or so higher than the rest and you should be receiving the topo in the mail within a week or so.

Re: rock castle bouldering
I heard a rumor about someone getting hurt pretty bad while jumping off the 3 sisters this year....does anyone know if this is true. what would be the best dock to launch from to get to the best climbing on the lake.rastaman wrote:Re: Laurel Lake
Don't bother. Due to record breaking rainfall all the good stuff is under water. Typically everything will be underwater from around April to July, but this year is a different story. Hopefully the water will recede before spring rains and there will be some Laurel bouldering to be had this season, but I'm not optimistic. Probably will have to wait till next fall...

sharing in a pubic forum (hi internet!) was a mistake; not because of the backlash but because of the actual risk to bouldering in kentucky. when i retreated back to the lab and looked into safely securing DBNF bouldering it seemed i'd likely do more harm than good. in the end, it's much safer (and easier) to climb quietly and share information through informal channels. It's how it has to be in Kentucky i'm afraid.
that said, there are some stellar (STELLAR!) private areas that could use a more diplomatic approach. maybe next season.
