To follow up from my previous post, and to make people aware of what this f*cktard is stealing; I realized my sleeping bag and (I'm fairly confident) a mesh bag with my rechargeable air mattress pump and a couple of camp tarps were taken as well. Awe-some.

A climber sting operation sounds fantastic... I filed a police report with the Beattyville police, and they said they had already had 5 break-ins reported recently (not counting the two that happened yesterday).

what do you mean by stopped by a couple...

To all of those who have been broken into. Please sound off (1) where you were parked (2) what was taken (3) what time of day, in your best estimation did it happen.

+1

even a few bullets whizzing by his head would send the message.

since cops don't come down there, nobody would be there to tell you not to blast off a few rounds

Maybe take a video camera (vs a big gun) to get it on film. May be more effective in keeping this current group of thugs away in long term.. But then again, if I heard a gun shot while I was breaking in, I would seriously reconsider... Ok. So shoot video first, turn off camera, then shoot gun :)

I think a crossbow would be more effective.
