Thats right, they eventually wear out, and you have to get a new one.

My clickup is working fine and no recall. Recalling a belay device is odd stuff. Has anyone heard of mishaps. How do I know that the next grigri2 that someone wants to catch me with is not on the recall list?

You check, ask them, don't climb, or say fuck it and climb anyways.

Doesn't matter to me, the ATC is way better anyway. Gris Gris are totally unsafe and should not be placed in the hands of a gumby
