Sweet! Any with fungus growing on them?? Seriously though... would be into taking one if you got extra. I've got 5 ropes up right now and only a couple left!!

Not sure what's more sketch, the rope, or your memory of the ropes history.
"Oh, I've had that thing for 27 years. Some guy who recycled car batteries and used motor oil had it in his garage and gave it to me."

First off….I’m not looking for a worn out piece of string that half in the trash already, I was looking for someone that may have a good lightly used rope that was wanting to lighten their gear load and also save me a buck ..If not I’ll buy a new one! Second…I’m not guiding people on 5.10’s, I am helping some kids from 11-15 yr old to learn more about the sport on 15-30 ft bouldering rocks.
So in a nut shell- the post heading reads “WANTED static rope”, NOT “WANTED smart ass comments”. Thanks you to the people that are trying to help. If you don’t like the topic…don’t read the post.

If you don't want to be hassled don't get on a website full of climbers (and many BSA, and AMGA certified instructors) and ask for used ROPE to take kids climbing on. Who knows what that rope has been subject to. Chemicals, sunlight, fumes. Any of these will destroy the integrity of the rope (each to varying degrees of damage) Opening up the possibility for a break. If you don't like hearing the truth then don't ask the questions. Get educated, grow some thicker skin, Pony up and buy a new rope, are the kids lives not worth $150 bucks?
Did you read the climbing merit badge book? All of this is clearly stated and is part of the requirements to get the Merit badge. If you dont like the response then dont read the post...
