You piqued my curiosity with the cookie so I modified it a little and tried it just now. I dropped the egg white and added 1/2 scoop of egg white protein mix (chocolate). 1/2 scoop is 12g of protein. Tasted pretty good actually. I used self-rising flour, not sure if that matters.

Edited because I forgot that I also added 1/8 cup water. Otherwise you would end up with a pretty dry cookie. :)

this recipe is really good, i like it with crusty bread: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/09/dining/091arex.html

it only takes ~20 minutes of active prep/cooking. Red lentil's aren't in every store but Good Foods, Kroger on Richmond road and international markets have them. The international markets are the best place to get them cheap.

using two pieces of whole wheat bread, apply a generous coating of crunchy peanut butter onto the upside of one of the two pieces. Spread the peanut butter so that it is both smooth and completely and evenly covers the bread. Apply the second piece of bread onto the top of the one containing the previously applied peanut butter. Serve on a paper towel with one glass of milk and eat in front of any television.

I've been bouncing around the idea for years about a climbing cook book. One that had recipies and profiles of the people who came up with the ideas. I was going to section it off in car camping/cragging, big wall and alpine (light weight/high speed). You'd be surprised at the different flavors and variety that you can get with a couple cans of food. The profits could go to charity(RRGCC/ Access Fund). Any whoo...

My recipies would be in th car camping section and "Spam and zatarain's jambalaya" Throw in some Frank's "red hot" XTRA and you've got something.

Andy Raether used to eat egg whites and potatoes every morning. I'm sure he'd do a profile picture and a bio for his recipe...

Any takers on a charity project...

I made a really good light pasta sauce recently...
Finely chop a jar of roasted red peppers and mix with a couple cloves of chopped garlic, a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1-2 teaspoons of sugar, salt and a bunch of cracked black pepper. I think I threw in a little half-and-half too. We actually made our own fettuccini and served it over it with grilled veggies and chicken. YUM!

I think I'll avoid all macaroni salads from now on, just in case they were made this way.
