That's the kind of "sponsoring" I was referring to (lump sum 'pledges' are sometimes referred to as 'donations'). Thanks. Oh, can anyone do the climbing or is it only a specific few?

EVERYONE can participate. Donations, pledges, moolah, greenbacks. It's all the same.

Gretchen, I told you not to tell.

To clarify once again! The fundraising participants will be collecting DONATIONS prior to the event. The point is that climbers can tell people that this is so important to us that we are committing to climbing 250-feet for the cause so give me money.

Sounds great! Is there a set time to show up or has that not been decided yet?

So this is kinda like a walk-a-thon where the participents collect donations for the amount of feet climbed?
Will there be a pamplet that people can print off the net for the donations so people know what they are donating to? You know, kinda like the walk-a-thon pamplets where there is info and then a sign up sheet on the back. I know my friends would feel better donating to something if I actually had some written info on it.

Not really. It's less like a climb-a-thon and more like a fundraiser. Like I said, you're committing upfront to climb. They give the money before hand. Super cool prizes for the top 3 fundraisers.

A flyer that we could print out and show people would be good.
I would design one, but I am no good at that stuff.
