You'll place that #3 at the end of the traverse as you start to climb up again. It's more for your second's protection than yours

Don't do it without the #3. I remember retrieving the piece from below me to place it toward the end of the route.

I think I remember placing a BD 4 in the lightning bolt crack somewhere...of course I could be mistaken...but Chester is right, it is more for your seconds protection than yours.

I was joking, I can't think of any rout at the red where you could use 3 #6's, except maybe muscle shoals.
