No kidding, not to mention people allow their dogs to piss on another person's tent-now that's just wrong. It would have been bad had the dog bit you because you could have taken them for everything they had and then some.

um, I doubt it, seeing that (correct me if I am wrong) Eric is an employee of a place that allows these dogs. and just how do you take someone for "then some"...lol...just teasing.

actually pepper spray on dogs is not effective. it's painful to the dog and it makes the dog more, not less, aggressive. a better alternative is a citronella-based spray called "direct stop." it's sold in most pet stores. it makes the dog start sneezing uncontrollably, and the dog can no longer be aggressive.

when i had 4 great danes, i would not walk them without carrying it with me. it proved to be a good thing to have on hand because one day someone else's unleashed dog did come over and tried to pick a fight with mine! i sprayed every single one of them and i've NEVER seen dogs stop fighting so quickly. the other dogs owner was able to get his pet away from mine and no person or dog got hurt in the incident.

as a dog owner, i am down with the idea; a good place for dog haters.
on the flip side, i'd also be game for a "dog friendly" campground--i.e., a place that had an area to let dogs roam free. it's nice not having to worry about leashing them, and lets them get some energy out.

that is your responsibility, not a campground owners  they'd start a puppy park if that was their goal.

Kipp, I'm correcting you
I am an employee of a place that USED to allow these dogs.

If the dog had bit me, I would have taken the law into my own hands. But again, all I wanted to see with this post was the poll results. People are way too passionate about their dogs for me to try to sway anyone’s feelings about the subject. I don't care if you love dogs or hate them. I'm just trying to do my job here.

and Tank,
you don't have a clue my friend.
We are not a place for dog haters!
ANYONE who knows me can vouch for this. Most of the time, I remember the dog names a lot better than I do the owners! After the fire at R.R.O., I believe I cried harder when we buried River Dog than I did when I buried my mother, but the same dog that came at me yesterday also had an elderly woman who is staying here this week with her family, scared to the point that she couldn't come out of the bath house.

Mark and Kathy Meyer were not dog haters when they shut down Torrent.
Rick and Liz Weber were not dog haters when they banned dogs from Muir Valley.
In both of these cases, ample warnings were given for dog owners to obey the rules.

We had 7 signs posted that made the leash law very clear and a notice that dogs were on probation and the owners were to keep control of their dogs all of the time.

People, learn from history or keep repeating it.
