I think I have to back Mack5 on that one. But so much is about how much love gets put into a route too. The Bob Marley cave YEARS ago was known as a choss pile, but once those routes got some serious runs to clean them up, most became 5 star.

Some known choss-piles Id love to try to clean up and find the beauty: Beeper @ Bob Marley and Crumblies at Bronaugh Wall.
Can't we all just get along?

Happy trails
Maypop
Brother Stair
Drop the anchor
Some 5.6 and 5.8 at Courtesy Wall

I'm sure some people would like these routes, I just don't like this kind of climbing and do not ever want to do any of these routes again. I hate slabs with moss especially. But...it is still awesome that people bother to spend time and money to bolt something for others!
Hauling a big ego up a route adds at least a full grade.

i don't understand why people don't like maypop and brother stair. Sure, maypop is hard for an 11a, just stop being a puss. And yes the bolts on brother stair could be moved a foot to the left, but again, stop being a puss. The routs are still fun and great learning experiences.

honestly I can only think of two routs that I will not likely ever get on again even though I haven't sent them

1. flying serpents at the boneyard - felt really sharp and the movement wasn't very fun
2. bleed like me - somehow given 5 stars in the last guidebook but obviously a ploy by the equipper to sucker people in to trying such a sharp crappy rout, not fun at all. maybe I just had high hopes and was let down by the star rating given by the first and only assent at the time.

Otherwise, everything else I have ever been on was at least enjoyable

I've only done 1 route at the Red that stands out as being terrible....

The Business at Drive By. Scary rock, dirty, sandy, indirect....it just sucks.

I just sent Flying Serpents a couple days ago, I think the movement is really good but hard to figure out and a bit run out in that section. The top of the Business is pretty fun. i once got Spencer on it cause I told him i liked it. He wasn't very happy with me.
Sand inhibits the production of toughtosterone, so get it out and send.
