Ed Viesturs and Anatoli Boukreev supposedly have very high max V02, that is why they can do so many of those 8000 meter peaks without supplemental oxygen

Hey, forget Ullrich, look out for Hamilton. I wrote him off in the first stage when he broke his collarbone, then he hounded Lance all the way up the Alpe d'Huez! Beloki's out with a broken arm, here's Lance going off road to get around him as he goes down:

So Lance takes the yellow jersey in the mountains as expected, but only with much effort and loses the stage to Mayo. He said, "Better the yellow jersey than 2 minutes behind." Oh yeah, where's Ullrich? 2:10 behind Lance.
