what??
He's right, it works. I started out by hiding under the bridge on 77 and before you know it, I was crushing 5.9d. I got arrested a few times for scaring people on the bridge, but hey, you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet.

oh come on. Guy, from Ohio, doesn't know to look to meet climbers at a climbing gym, wants people to teach him all they know. This has saxman written all over it. Under the bridge with the other trolls

Has anyone suggested any equipment for this guy to purchase? I started out bouldering, that is the cheapest and simplest option. All you really need is shoes and a chalk bag. You will just have to hope there are other people at whatever area you go to with crash pads.
If you are wanting to rope up, then you will need shoes and a chalk bag still, a harness, a rope, a descender/belay device, and a set of quickdraws (at least 10).

Or Redpoiint.

the best knot to use is the figure eight named so because it is shaped like the number eight then back it up with a double fisherman named so because it is shaped like two fishermen. i know all about this because i have a copy of ropes knots and slings for climbers that i ate for lunch.
