how far south do you guys recommend? I just moved to KY from Texas so this winter mess is all new to me.

Yeah, haven't you heard? The "season" is over after Miguel's closes. No climbing is allowed during the off-season. The truly tragic thing is that some of the best climbing days ever fall within the off-season.
Everyone is stuffing their faces or climbing in chalk-dusty gyms, ruining their lungs while warm winter sun basks the cliffs of the Red River Gorge. It's a real cryin' shame.

Well, I'll be climbing in the winter so you'll have a partner while everyone else is snorting lines of metolius super chalk while waiting to top rope the 30ft wall.
