I used a small section of plywood (6" x 6" ) with a drilled hole.. then using an allen screw with a washer against the wood I set the tnuts that were in place -do not hammer them- each one I set this way are straight and have been in use for about 12 yrs - the ones I hammered in are about 50% wack

so you pulled them into the board, by tightening the bolt down, instead of hammering?

Sounds strong, but time consuming. Just wondering, can't tell if that is what you mean.

yes you have it correct- it is really no more time consuming than hammering and the results are vastly superior 100% proper placement-

hmmm. I'm about to build an 8 x 14 overhung to 4 x 14 on the ceiling in my basement. Never built one before but I've been on a few and I've looked them over. I have the material minus the t nuts and holds. Can I get t nuts at a hardware store? I need to look more into the t nut part of this project.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and get a treadwall.

I'm getting ready to build a basement wall. Anybody with home gyms want to recommend a hold manufacturer? I've been looking at some of the starter kits by metolius in Mountain Gear. Others?
