Has anybody else gone DWS at summersville lately?

I really really really want to go, but I also really really don't want to get fined/arrested.

Would love to hear if anybody else has been able to get away with it since the ban.

You will probably need a boat. It's been a few years since I've been there, but Laurel River Lake has a staggering amount of shoreline. We accessed the cliffs by boat and I can't imagine getting to them any other way. It's basically inlet after inlet after inlet...

The cliffs range from a few feet to 70 feet, to the best of my knowledge. There were plenty in the 20-30 foot range. The water is extremely deep - but I think you'd be nuts to get on something above water you didn't already know about or at least have a depth finder on your boat.

Laurel lake is beautiful. It's worth going even if you can't find good dws. They're super strict about dumping in the water. So when you're out there, you can see 10 or so feet into the water. You look into the water and think you're in the tropics - you look at the forest and think you're in the boreal...all right down in Kentucky.

not lately, but I plan to before too long here, trying to get enough people to cheaply rent a pontoon. Misery loves company so we should try to get fined/arrested together.

I'm willing to chip in for a boat. If the cops show up we'll all just hide underwater and breathe through straws....they'll never see us. :)

No need for a depth finder at summersville. You can usually see 10 feet down.
